Overview

Friendly game with 1000 point forces used on previous game.

Background

Several posts on the Hawk forums indicated me of this mission. A lot less luck-based than objective ones and fought on a "diagonal". It is indeed good mission and very different than most.

Deployment - PHR

Using our previous 1000 point list was less than optimal. No objectives to find, but infantry worth double at buildings on game end.

Heavy hitters (Odins) were good, but no match to Ocelot range and firepower. I need to get closer.

Turn 1 (PHR)

Having the initiative on turn 1 means I let my opponent act first. He started with several vehicles already on the map. I started with none. I spread to both "sides", Odins and Janus to right, Phobos & Command units to left. One Squad of Immortals each way too.

Turn 2 (PHR)

Deploying the rest of the forces was priority. Specially out of LOS from the Ocelot. On that respect, I should not have disembarked my troops so soon. I gave plenty of concrete for the Ocelot to pile.

Turn 6 (PHR)

Win initiative and activated the Phobos. They managed to kill a Kukri and take cover.

Man of the Match - Lucky Janus

After having his partner pulverized, a lone Janus scout continued on. He received fire from several sources and then, Ocelot decided to bring down a building he was behind. The 10dp building went down in a single "awesome firepower" stroke. Janus future looked doomed, but his fate was decided for a different purpose and he escaped clear of the debris.

BFU - Pile of Immortals

While Shaltari luck on Falling Masonry damage was good, I should have retreated the Immortals on a safe place (Triton, maybe) before their extermination.

Final Summary

The game was really interesting an different than all previous ones I had. The left Flank seemd secure nd I won with 80+ points margin. The right flank was the question, and having lost a whole Immortal squad ( in building due masonry) and both Odin made the difference. Also if any of the 5 shots on he Spirit from the Janus did connect, Shaltari presence on the right field would be reduced by 140, as the Braves would not be teleported.

4Vp for each side, Shaltari won by kill points difference.
