Background

New Varanasi was the administrative capital of the province of Danwar on the northern continent of Eden Prime. It had large government and tourism sectors and was considered an ideal location for wealthy citizens in the north of the planet.

Timeline: Week 2 of UCM Invasion of New Varanasi.

Reconnaissance has been done and now the factions are pushing forces into New Varanasi and skirmishing on the outer parts of the city.

Deployment - PHR

Standard 800 point PHR for New Varanasi campaign, round 2

The idea was to focus on what the battlegroup is good against. That led to the following directions of conduct Hand of the Sphere -> Scourge AA

Phobos Battle Pantheoon -> Desolator

Ares Battle Pantheon -> Hunters

Immortals -> Warriors

Pegasus -> AA support (mostly vs Desolator)

Turn 1

First in was the Pegasus Group (Janus + Triton). PHR decided to let them flying close to one of the Large buildings for further deployment.

Scourge deployed second with their Warriors, letting the flying close to the same Large building as the Janus.

PHR replied with Force and Sent the Immortals full burn towards the same building area.

Scourge advanced their Prowler full 30in toward the Large Building.

PHR steadied their Ares in the middle of the field.

Scourge moved their Vanguard. Hunter more to the middle, deployed and Reapers to the side, deployed.

PHR finally entered the Hand of Sphere deploying directly in range/LOS of the landed Reapers.

Scourge cruised the Desolator towards middle board full speed.

PHR then entered the Phobos and deployed slightly to the right of Ares group

Turn 5

Remaining Phobos tried to run away and got blow by Marauder fire. Situation very desperate for both sides as the Scourge had some air presence but the only ground force was the Warriors facing the Zeus. PHR had still both Immortals, Zeus & Odin. Last Janus was destoryed

Turn 6

Very little to do on both sides. Infantry inside buildings was untouchable with current weapons. Both sides had ground units on opponent side, meaning no 3VPs. Only VPs were from destroyed squads. 3 each.

Man of the Match - Desolator

Roger used this units to good effect. It was his first time playing with it, but he maneuvered it very well as to make a lot of damage on the PHR side.

BFU - White Phobos down

Having lost a lot of units and not being able to counter the Scourge Desolator, PHR decided to retreat (to the enemy side of the table) the last damaged Phobos. Mounted and moved on turn 4, moved and dismounted on turn 5. A good safe distance from the Desolator and other Scourge units. But it was easily reachable by one of the squad-less Marauders floating around the table. Scourge advanced the Marauder on turn 5 and finished the Phobos. PHR should have left the Phobos onboard till game end.
